Hosting is an important beast of the whole website building business. If you don’t get the right host, it can make or break your site. A large amount of Australia bloggers use Hosting from US Companies rather than sourcing their servers locally, mainly for price reasons. Lets see how these two US based hosts compare against each other.
Today I am going to focus on two hosting companies Pressidium and Hostmonster.
You may ask why these two hosting companies?
There is a reason, Its because I had a successful blog on hostmonster for quite some years and then moved it to pressidium to upgrade to the next level. Not saying that hostmonster was bad at all, I loved them – they still have their $14.95 pro plan i used(normally $25.49 a month) which is of great value if you want a lower priced premium plan.
I moved my site for quite a few reasons mainly Google updates saying – your sites need to load faster, you need https etc for us to favour you in Google search.
I needed a faster loading site and a boost in rankings and traffic.
Before I get into the pressidium review, let me tell you about hostmonster
What did i love about Hostmonster?
Set and forget. Never had any problems. No issues with bandwidth throttling – limiting , or plugins creating problems with hosting plans etc.
Price
Their prices are low compared to premium hosting. I upgraded from the shared hosting plan to the pro plan and speeds increased and so did my traffic on my blog. So the pro plan did a good job with hostmonster. I upgraded to pressidium to get even faster speeds and more traffic and of course free SSL and move.
Reliability
In my 8+ years with hostmonster i have had to contact them only 2to 3 times and they solved my issues pretty quick
Stability
Their platform is pretty stable, it s a no fuss server really.
What i loved about my move to Pressidium
Website migration
They move your current site to their platform for free and keep you informed every step of the way. They got nimble and efficient little robots doing all the stuff you need in their server backrooms.
Good responsive support
Their response to any problems raised via tickets is quick and prompt too i might say even though they are both in fact the same words. Bonus.
Knowledgeable tech
Their tech support is pretty knowledgeable compared to some other shared hosting support. Good turnaround time for sure.
Good and easy looking admin panel
Their custom admin panel for pressidium is pretty easy to use even for a newbie. And they don’t even use the regular cpanel. Bravo.
Free https
You would be foolish not to take advantage of their free https(SSL) with hosting. Its important to make your website look secure, now more than ever because of googles monopoly on search. Something free to make your site rank higher in google, I say just grab it!
3 websites for 1 hosting account
Brilliant! You get to host three websites on 1 purchased plan account with their personal hosting package for just $42 a month.
Well its too early to tell if it was a good move moving one of my blogs from hostmonster to pressidium – but if you want a premium middle of the range host then the pressidium micro plan is definitely something you should look into. They are the bees knees!
Here is the pricing below for the other plans that pressidium has.

Just o give you a comparison, here is a pricing plan for the Hostmonster plans as well.

As you can see from the host monster pricing plans, they are not too shabby themselves for the price value.
You could easily use them to if you have a blog getting up to 100 to 1000 hits a day and still need a bit of speed.
I would prefer to go with pressidium for the long term plan as a premium hosting service and also keep hostmoster pro plan as a option if i needed more than 1 hosting service. Good luck wiht your project and let us know how you go when you sign up and get started.
